MONOMAKH 4.0

Nov 01, 2006 What's New in MONOMAKH 4.0 (in comparison with MONOMAKH 3.0)
  1. BUILDING module
    • Updated GUI
    • Different approach to work with the model
    • Additional editing options
      • Unlimited Undo and Redo. Table of Undo/Redo commands.
      • Capabilities for rotation of local axes of column - they may be directed towards the point or positioned at an angle to the x-axis.
      • Elements from different storeys as well as loads from different load cases can be edited simultaneously. Loads can be transferred from one load case to another with the help of Element properties floating box.
    • Additional visualization options
    • Elements and loads
      • New sections for columns - cross (angle section, T-section), ring section, box section, I-section. Local axes are introduced for the column section.
      • New sections for beams - box section, I-section (T-section).
      • New structural element - pile.
      • New type of bedding for mat foundation - mat foundation on pile footing.
      • Openings in mat foundations.
      • Beam that is not supported by walls, beams, columns. This beam is used to strengthen the slab.
      • Beam at the slab level along the wall.
      • Horizontal loads at the slab level for dead, live and short-term load cases in order to transfer them to vertical elements (columns and walls).
    • Model generation
      • Different triangulation steps for slabs and walls from various storeys.
    • Analysis
      • Advanced solver for FEA significantly reduces the time for analysis and removes almost all limitations on the size of the problem (up to 1 million of nodes or elements).
      • Parameters of elastic foundation (moduli of subgrade reaction C1 and C2) are determined by different methods. They are determined on the basis of imported model of the soil (see below) for every FE of mat foundation on natural bed.
      • Design rigidity of piles, their bearing capacity and settlement are determined by different methods. They are determined on the basis of imported model of the soil (see below) and specified parameters of piles (diameter, length of pile).
    • Results visualization
      • Mosaic plots of forces in piles according to FEA results.
    • Export
      • Export of FEA results to BEAM module.
      • Column sections of new shapes can be exported to COLUMN and SLAB modules.
      • Export of pile arrangement to SLAB module.
    • Import
      • Import of soil model from the SOIL module.
  2. BEAM module
    • Updated GUI
    • Import of FEA results from BUILDING module.
  3. COLUMN module
    • Updated GUI
    • Column sections of new shapes can be imported from BUILDING module. These are cross (angle section, T-section), ring section, box section, I-section.
  4. SLAB module
    • Updated GUI
    • Different approach to work with the model
    • Additional editing options
      • Grid fragments in Cartesian and polar coordinate systems.
    • Elements and loads
      • New sections for columns - cross (angle section, T-section), ring section, box section, I-section.
    • Analysis
      • Analysis of slab for punching. Contours of punching are determined automatically for different column sections. It is possible to edit the contour of punching.
    • Design
      • New method for slab reinforcement - main and additional reinforcement.
      • Values of colour palette for reinforcement may be presented in (a) numerical form (area of determined reinforcement is specified) and (b) as formulas (the sums of arbitrary number of couples spacing-diameter or number-diameter is specified).
      • Initial settings of colour palette for reinforcement.
    • Import
      • Import of pile arrangement from BUILDING module.
      • New shapes (cross, angle section, T-section, ring section, box section, I-section) for columns and beams may be imported from BUILDIONG module.
      • Import of materials for columns and beams from BUILDING module.
      • Import of soil model from the SOIL module.
  5. DIAPHRAGM module
    • Updated GUI
    • Different approach to work with the model
    • Results visualization
      • New (adjusted) palette for contour and mosaic plots.
      • Values of colour palette for reinforcement may be presented in (a) numerical form (area of determined reinforcement is specified) and (b) as formulas (the sums of arbitrary number of couples spacing-diameter or number-diameter is specified).
      • Initial settings of colour palette for reinforcement that allow you to select parameters that are fixed at the stage of automatic analysis.
  6. FOUNDATION, REWALL (Retaining Wall), BRICK modules
    • Updated GUI
  7. DRAWING modules
    • Updated GUI
    • Additional editing options
      • Editing of location of leaders.
      • Specifying arbitrary dimensions and distances between any objects.
    • Updated module DRAWING of the SLAB:
      • Generating zones of reinforcement according to new method of slab reinforcement - main and additional reinforcement.
      • Editing of construction lines.
  8. New modules in MONOMAKH software
    • MONOMAKH version 4.0 includes new module SOIL that is used to determine modulus of subgrade reaction by specified geological data for construction area.
      • Generating model of the soil according to specified description of drill holes made in the construction area. Model of the soil is generated automatically and than can be edited.
      • Defining arbitrary contour for mat foundation of the structure in consideration as well as arbitrary contours and loads from surrounding structures. Load from the structure in consideration is imported from BUILDING module.
      • Determining parameters of elastic foundation (moduli of subgrade reaction C1 and C2) by different methods. Parameters are calculated automatically and then can be edited.
      • Exporting model of the soil to BUILDING and SLAB modules, in the future - to LIRA software.
