Building Information Model

KALIPSO allows to import 3D model from independent software systems automating different project segments and construction stages, such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, AllPlan (Architectural Design), LIRA, Monomakh (Structural Integrity Calculations) , АРС (Sanitary Engineering), Electra on the KALIPSO BIM.

KALIPSO BIM has the information about all the objects in the building as well as their dimensions, materials, layers.

• estimate amounts of construction works and resources (including human resources, machinery and construction materials)
• export data to budgeting and construction management systems (calendar and financial planning).

KALIPSO Navigator allows to:

• visualize a building with the help of 2D and 3D graphics at different projecting stages
• manage data imports/exports to/ from BIM
• make sampling of construction components (lists, filters, queries) by criteria selected by the user
• develop budgeting rules data base
• estimate amounts of construction works and resources and transfer them to budgeting and construction management systems
• make projections of direct construction costs

KALIPSO Constructor allows to:

• add new construction components to the VCO
• develop room layout (in an automated or manual way)
• develop 3D BIM on the basis of 2D AutoCAD drawings or raster images (JPG, BMP, etc.)
• adjust geometrical parameters of VCO components

KALIPSO Document Manager allows to:

• develop text documents and graphics
• preview, edit and print documents
• export data to AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel

KALIPSO construction cost estimating

Visual Estimating user interface includes all the basic navigation capabilities needed for 2D and 3D visualization of the imported BIM model. In addition, it allows selective viewing of objects by building sections, component types, materials and layers, special filters and individual objects.

Objects' visibility and properties can be adjusted and they can also be highlighted in the context of the building model.

The views can be dynamically determined and selected at any point by the user.

KALIPSO allows to determine necessary works and resources for every component of the building in an automated or manual way.

Selecting an object provides detailed information about it, such as type, material, dimensions, works and resources, and so on, all of which comes directly from its description in the BIM. Besides, KALIPSO allows to identify (and highlight) all components of the building related to any specific work or resource.

This interactive 3D user interface allows the estimator to understand and analyze both the details of the design model and construction costs more easily.

The Database of Works and Resources provides current works and resources for building objects, including labor and material prices and manhours for each job. It can be updated any time.

Cost Books and Resource Prices are data bases of materials, equipment and labor prices typical of different geographical regions and different suppliers of materials and services. Prices contained in DBWR can be easily replaced by the prices from any Cost Book and/or Resource Prices database list.

Therefore, BIM allows to estimate Direct Building Costs of a construction object for any region and any supplier.

KALIPSO allows to make a rough estimation with the help of 5-step wizard (without DBWR) and detailed estimation using DBWR.
